MINISTRIES

SHORT TERM MISSIONS

Envision Wired has worked with short-term missions teams from all over the US to share the love of Christ with the people of El Salvador.

Our goal is to turn missions upside-down--or right-side-up, depending how you look at it. When we come to the table with our own expectations and goals without communicating with the community, we start with an upside-down cup. When we pour out our blessing, the cup does hold a very little amount of water, but mostly, it leaves a huge mess for the missionaries and communities to clean up. Talking with the local churches, finding out what they need, and starting with what they are already doing well, we turn that glass right-side-up. When we do that, we see a much more beneficial outcome. Here at Envision Wired, we believe that right-side-up missions is all about DOING good over FEELING good.

BROKEN

Vision: To transform the hearts, families, and futures of the broken with Christ's love.

Psalms 34:18 says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Broken consists of broken people who rescue broken people so that they can become rescuers of broken people. Aside from seeking to minister just to the needs of a broken person, the Broken ministry seeks to minister to the needs of a broken people. Like Abraham who dreamed for a person but received a people, so also Broken dreams of receiving a people and believes in the Lord’s power to accomplish the impossible. It is our desire to minister to the needs of broken, hurting people and, after they have reached a place of health and wholeness in the Lord, to then send them back into the communities of El Salvador to minister the same hope of the gospel to their families, friends and neighbors. Broken will set about attaining this goal by ministering to the following five client-groups:

1. Abandoned Infants

2. Impoverished and At-Risk Families

3. Addicts

4. Sex Trade Workers

5. Ex-Prisoners and Gang Members.

HUNGRY

Each week, close to 400 people are deported from the US to El Salvador. Many of them grew up in the US, so when they arrive in in this unfamiliar country, they have nowhere to start. No family connections, no job, no home, and they may not even speak the language.

Many of the Salvadoran churches are very conservative. A lot of times, someone covered in tattoos, with limited Spanish-speaking skills, and perhaps a criminal record won't find their niche in church.

Hungry, one of our newest ministries, is a church for the non-church people. Every other Saturday we offer a message in English, a kids' program, dinner, and an opportunity to build relationships in an accepting, judgement-free environment (all before the buses stop running).
